»What you have inherited from your fathers, make it yours to possess it.«
Wolfgang v. Goethe
bavarian capital management
Our family adopted this motto from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe many generations ago during our time of success in the agriculture, viticulture and malting industry in Rhenish Hesse. Today, the Munich-based successors of the family have brought together all of their assets in Bavarian Capital and are now engaged in international foreign exchange and capital markets. The resulting income has flowed into a private equity and venture capital portfolio as direct investments.
Niko Dimitrov, founder of Bavarian Capital, joined the US American investment bank Kidder Peabody & Co. in Paris in August 1983 after graduating from the European Business School in Reichartshausen and completing an MBA at the American University in Washington DC.
From 1985 to 1995, he worked at Morgan Stanley in London in Institutional Sales and later in the High Net Worth department. At that time, he gained his first experience in venture capital and private equity and acted as a business angel.
Since 2014, during the early years of Bavarian Capital, the company has been engaged in active portfolio management. Besides listed equities, the core competencies of the company involve FX dealing, CFDs and various options strategies.
The holding's business model has changed over time and nowadays investment almost exclusively takes place in private equity or venture capital.
The company’s core business is the management of private equity investments, which involves sitting in the same boat as the founders, coaching them as required and making strategic decisions together. A takeover or IPO may then become the common goal, although this does not have to be the case.
